Flaunt It!
Life has been hectic but the good news is I’ve successfully moved, and I’ve started my new position…
Unpacking is hard.
Being the boss is harder… especially when your employee is late… oh well :/
My schedule has been crazy, this was yesterday:
6:00A wake up & get ready
7:00A meet my carpool
8:00A-3:30P regular school day
3:30P-6:30P after school program (a trip to the local community room for playtime)
6:30P-7:30P long commute (extra long because I was confused with the new location)
7:30P-8:30P grocery shopping
8:30P-9:30P System Analysis and Design Exam
9:30P-10:30P Computer Security and Forensics Exam
10:30P-11:30P Operations Systems HW
11:30P-6:00A Sleep
Good Times
My eating has been pretty random but I’ve discovered a new love:

I know I say I want to marry my food often but nothing in this world is better than a honeycrisp apple. Why didn’t I know this before? They are worth every penny for the juicy sweetness. I’ve had one for “lunch” dessert at work for a couple of weeks and have completely eliminated my nagging desire to hit up the vending machine post-meal. Try one ASAP! In the end, each (huge) apple is probably 75 cents which is what a small bag of chips costs, and less than a candy bar, in our machine. Such a worthy investment though!

I’ve also discovered a slight obsession with fruit snacks. More accurately rediscovered. In the early days of middle-school, pre-ED, I used to eat a package of these every day. I think I may have to invest in a case because they’ve saved me from many bowls of leftover Halloween candy. For 80kcals they’re not too bad as far as candy goes (although I’m going to lookout for a *healthy* version of fruit snacks too!).
To the real news? Diana of The Chic Life is hosting Flaunt It Week. What does that mean!? If you’ve got it, flaunt it. Right?
Diana says it best when she says that this is not a call to be arrogant, instead it is to be confident. Does this mean that every day you’re going to walk out of your front door strutting? No. Does it mean that you must have the prettiest face, the best abs and ___(fill in the blank)___ . No.
That means that for the rest of this week, look at yourself and pick something that you love about your appearance and celebrate it!
(Mine is strange) It’s been unseasonably warm here in our nation’s capital and I’ve been taking full advantage of the 70+ degree weather with flip flops and open sandals. One of my favorite body parts is my feet. I know it’s weird, but they never fail me. No matter what the scale says my feet stay the same. I’m always a “size 6″ when it comes to shoes and frankly that’s a wonderful feeling. They have a natural arch so (the right) heels are just as comfortable as flats, and they look great in a pair of sandals. I know some people a wary of feet but I celebrate mine.

Not only do they look good(ish… I mean I haven’t had a pedi in ages!) but they carry me everywhere. Today, I walked around my new complex, did a funny dance for my students at their breakfast table, played tag at recess, walked with my afterschool group to the local library and they still stuck with me on my commute home.
What are you flaunting today?
